Our food
Sprout is a plant cafe that serves plant-based food and drink.You can expect a variety of dips and small plates, warm sourdough focaccia and naturally gluten-free herby chickpea flatbread, mixed vegetable quiche, savoury pastry rolls, and a wide selection of fresh, vibrant, seasonal salads. All our dips, small plates and most of our salads are made with gluten-free ingredients.If you're after a sweet treat, our Portuguese custard tarts are extremely popular, as are our chocolate chip cookies and banana bread muffins.All our food, including our sourdough, is made by us, in-house, and completely plant-based.We serve coffee supplied by Triple Co Roast, who work directly with coffee farmers so they get a fair price for a superb product; loose leaf tea from Exmoor Tea Company; Devon-crafted juices and bubblies from Luscombe; kombucha by Fix8; sodas by Gusto Organics.

Afternoon tea – 31 May 2026
Our first Sprout Sunday Special is on 31 May 2026, when we'll be serving a completely plant-based afternoon tea.Tea will be served at 1pm. We’re deliberately keeping numbers low to avoid overcrowding our cosy cafe. If we're overbooked we'll consider putting on another sitting at 3pm.The tea consists of finger sandwiches (cream cheese and cucumber, no-egg mayonnaise and cress, coronation chickpea), mini sausage roll, fruit scone with cream and jam, cakes, a sparkly drink or juice, as well as unlimited tea or coffee. Everything will be plant-based and suitable for vegans, and made and prepared in-house.The cost is £25 per head, payable in advance, and you can pay for any extras on the day.If you’re interested in booking, please use the form below to let us know the number of people you’d like to book for. We’ll email you back with a link to make payment by card, or you can come to Sprout to make your payment by card or cash if you prefer. Bookings are confirmed once payment has been made.We are currently fully booked for this special event.
